Notes, adding notes to selected text or bible verses

I am trying to add a note to text or bible verses. The instructions say to right click the highlighted selection and then "select add a note to "your note file". but the only "your note file" i get an opportunity to add to is the last note file i opened. I imagine there is some easy "operator error" on my end, but I just can figure this out. Can someone help please. thanks,

Are you trying to add this to a blank new note or a different previous note? You may create a new note or open a previous note document from the File menu and then it will appear in the right-click menu. Does that help?
