Today's indexing took 6 hours, what's the deal?

What's going on here, every day the indexing gets longer and longer... crazy..

I rather download my index, then install it myself. Playing the waiting game isn't cool anymore, plus the computer become significantly slow... C'mon, this is 2014..

ps:no my comp isn't a slow comp.

There were some big updates to resources recently... But 6 hours is long. It may be that your index became corrupt and was automatically rebuilt. Logos has added that feature... Where the app would have crashed in some situations, it now rebuilds the index.

What 'bama says could account for the 6 hours but the only way to know for sure is to permanently enable logging and upload the Indexer log if it happens again.

Personally choose to index when not planning to use computer for hours since indexing is resource intensive. Nominally let resource(s) download followed by closing Logos to start indexing. After indexing is complete, open Logos.

Amount of time to index depends on resources added plus computer capabilities. Purchasing new base package(s) can add hundreds of resources.

If indexing is happening every day, would like to look at diagnostic log files:

OS X => https://www.logos.com/support/logos5/mac/problem

Windows => https://www.logos.com/support/logos5/windows/problem

Note: if indexing does not complete, the indexer starts over. Not completing could be a crash or indexer being forced to quit (e.g. logoff).
