Android Suite 4.1.12 Stable Release
The Android team is pleased to announce the 4.1.12 stable release of the Bible, Biblia, FSB, Verbum, Vyrso and Noet apps. The apps should be available soon in the Google Play and Amazon Stores.
If you discover any issues please create a new post and include the following info:
- Description – How were you using the app when the problem occurred.
- App Info – Which app you are using. (Bible, Biblia, Faithlife Study Bible, Noet, Verbum or Vyrso)
- Device Info – (Nexus 7, Motorola Triumph, Droid Bionic, Kindle Fire (1st gen))

Yes, I believe we fixed that in the 4.1.8 release. Let me know if you're still having issues. [:)]

The Release Notes in Google Play indicate that a "bug" was fixed in this version that has actually been a long time feature request for me. As someone who uses Logos primarily for Inductive Bible Study I make extensive use of highlights for individual words and the ability to set a default highlight and then perform some sort of press or long press to highlight the word without having to go through the long click context menu and then the highlight menu to add a highlight was my new favorite Logos feature.
Could this be added back as an optional feature in Android? There is a whole group of us who would make extensive use of this. The functionality we are looking for is to choose a highlight and once we have it chosen to be able to add it as needed as quickly as possible on a page without leaving the page similar to if you had a specific highlighter or colored pen in your hand as you read your bible.
If there is a way to do this already please let me know as I have not found one and have wanted one for quite some time.
By the way, I like the context menus that finally allow the deletion of a misapplied highlight. That feature was a nice plus too.

this feature should still work - the fix was to address a sensitivity issue.
there is a setting (in the settings menu) "swipe to highlight" which enables / disables this feature.
may be worth checking if this is enabled.

Graham, thanks for the reply.
This DOES work, but not if you ar only highlighting one word, which is the most common scenario for my use of highlighting. If I select one word it brings up the default select dialog.
HOWEVER, I did figure out that if I select and drag from the first word over a second word and then back to the first word a highlight is added to the single word. This is good enough for me as it seems to be quick and work reliably.

The problem I've encountered is with Bible 4.1.12, on the Kindle Fire HD. I don't know what the underlying Android version number is, but the Kindle System Version is 8.4.8, which I understand is the most current system version for the device.
In the resource titled Basics of Biblical Greek: Grammar, by William Mounce, breathing marks are not displaying properly for words starting with a vowel when the vowel is capitalized. The breathing mark should be located in front of the capitalized vowel, but appears to be occupying the same space as the capitalized vowel. See an example in chapter 3 at the end of section 3.4.
The breathing mark does display properly on the PC version of Logos, so I assume it's an Android problem, not a resource issue.

Thanks for the suggestion. My Kindle is set to update automatically, so it upgraded to the new version when I "fired" it up today. No change/fix for the breathing mark though--it still occupies the same space as the first upper case letter of the word. Probably not an issue for someone who knows Greek and is reading a book written in Greek. Can cause confusion though for someone who is trying to learn Greek and reading a Greek primer. [:^)]
