Looking for resources that deal with worship music and the scriptures. Have Platinum plus some other stuff.
This set does a fairly thorough job of examining all aspects of worship through the lenses of several worship traditions. Additionally, these resources are available individually. Vol. 4 specifically addresses music and the arts: https://www.logos.com/product/5774/the-complete-library-of-christian-worship
Thanks Richard. A little out of reach for me right now, even volume four.
Here's a cheap one for you: https://www.logos.com/product/38131/a-cappella-music-in-the-public-worship-of-the-church-4th-ed
Hi Lynden,
The most helpful stuff that I have read (on this particular topic) recently include,
Kauflin, Bob, Worship Matters: Leading Others to Encounter the Greatness of God (this was available in Vyrso, but has moved to pre-publication in Logos-proper)
Best, Harold, Unceasing Worship: Biblical Perspectives on Worship and the Arts (unfortunately, not yet available in Logos)
I also wondered if the following might be of interest/use (as with any counterpoint-type resource, they are what they are),
Pinson, Matthew J. (ed.), Perspectives on Christian Worship: Five Views
Basden, Paul (ed.), Six Views on Exploring the Worship Spectrum
Running a search in Logos also turned up the following (some of which appear to address the theology of worship), which may be of interest (I have added some of these to my reading list!),
Carson, D.A., Worship: Adoration and Action (available in the WEA Theological Resource Library)
Due, Noel, Created for Worship: From Genesis to Revelation to You
Horton, Michael, A Better Way: Rediscovering the Drama of God-Centred Worship
Wright, N. T., For All God's Worth
I have also noted that there is an article in Themelios which may be of interest (I am guessing you may have this in your library),
Smith, Rob, 'Music, Singing and Emotions: Exploring the Connections', Themelios 37:3 (Nov. 2012)
For clarity, and by way of disclaimer, I am only in a position to recommend the first two titles (as I have not yet read the others!).
Blessings,
Thanks Andy. I do have Themelios. Nice spread that you gave. I can definitely begin my study. Thanks everyone else.
