Footnotes Question

Hey, I would really appreciate some help on this: I am writing a paper using Turabian formatting, but am uncertain as to whether to include the author's last name in the second instance. Typically you use 5 underscores in place of the author's name for the second occurrence, however, do you do this if the second book includes another author?

For ex:

Beale, G. K. A New Testament Biblical Theology: The Unfolding of the Old Testament in the New. Grand Rapids, MI: Baker Academic, 2011.

 _____., and D. A. Carson. Commentary on the New Testament Use of the Old Testament. Grand Rapids, MI;  Nottingham, UK: Baker Academic;  Apollos, 2007.

do you do this if the second book includes another author?

The emdash is for multiple successive entries by the same author or editor. Since a book with two authors is not technically a 'successive entry', then the last name would be included in place of the emdash. This might become clearer by visualizing a rearrangement of the authors' names on the book/periodical.

Of course, any instructor may bend the rules, so this is a question I'd ultimately ask of your instructor. Some style manuals are pretty set in stone (i.e., APA), while others are more flexible (i.e. Turabian/CMS).
