Release Notes say "Opening a document (without modifying it) should no longer set its date to “Today”" -
this is NOT fixed.
I can open a note file, scroll, switch view, and click in a field without the date changing.
However, I see from http://community.logos.com/forums/p/67125/577755.aspx#577755 that your error occasionally happened to me on the RC, so perhaps it is not entirely consistent. Do you see it always, or just at times?
Actually I played around with it a bit, for about 5 Notes that had many notes in them, maybe at least 20 or more, it happened just opening them and closing them. I tried with two other note files, one that had 1 note, one that had 2 notes, and it did not happen with those! See if you get similar behavior that it happens in files with many notes vs. only 1 or 2.
The one I just tried with has plenty of notes. But I'm on Mac.

Agree. Syntax Search documents are affected.
I'm not able to replicate this with document items with no content, and with Word lists. I don't have any note documents that were created before today, nor do I have any syntax searches meeting this requirements. Does anyone have any wishlists Word Lists they can replicate this with? In the meantime I'll make some not documents and try with those tomorrow.
Hi Tommy, what is a wish list? Can I send you one of my old Notes somehow? I have some I can share with non concerns...
You know, I just tried the Notes I opened and closed yesterday without modification-yet the date was updated, and they did not have their date updated today! I bet if you speak to the developers, they somehow modify the note file through this fix, so when I opened it yesterday it was in fact updated - hence the date change But now, the file is not modified, so the date was not changed.
I bet if you can find someone's Note file at Logos that is pre-5.2 (there must be some!), you can duplicate the problem there!
what is a wish list?
I meant Word List. Sorry. I edited my post, but left my shame.
I had multiple people in testing open documents from 5.2 and close them without the behavior described occurring. Apparently even when they made the case the first time they weren't able to replicate the behavior consistently which is making tracking down the bug difficult. If the behavior is still occurring can you provide persistent steps to replicate the behavior? (I.E. if you have a specific type of document this is occurring with and you have multiple versions can you tell me which ones?)
Hi Tommy,
It is not happening all the time. Yesterday the first three Notes I tried it happened. Today, I tried 10 Notes, it did not happen. The 11th note it happened, which happened to be a note with a lot of text (if I put it in Full mode and then print dialog, it says it would be 106 pages). I thin the last time I opened the file was February, and I was not in the 5.2a beta.
Is there something I can send you to look at?
Hi Don,
What we really need are reproducible steps. Are you able to replicate the behavior with documents that have been updated since the update to SR-1?

No - it does seem random - but only with Notes updated prior to 5.2a (and not all of them). So maybe the problem just goes away over time, forget about it unless reproducible?
So maybe the problem just goes away over time
That is my sense. I know some code was written that should have fixed this. It might not be evident until you open them.
Date changes every time I open a Syntax document.

I can reproduce the date changing whenever I open up a Bibliography or Syntax Search Document, and I will create a case for Development.
Thanks, angela
