I am considering purchasing some of John MacArthur's books in the March Madness sale.
Rediscovering Pastoral Ministry: Shaping Contemporary Ministry with Biblical Mandates
Introduction to Biblical Counseling: A Basic Guide to the Principles and Practice of Counseling
Book on Leadership: Power of a Godly Influence
MacArthur Pastor’s Library on Pastoral Ministry
MacArthur Pastor’s Library on Counseling
These volumes come in at $66.45.
I am also looking at MacArthur LifeWorks Library 2.0. My price is $64.66. Some of the titles seem to be similar. The Book on Leadership is in it. I am trying to decide, should I just go with the March Madness books I selected or should I go with the Lifeworks Library. What are your thoughts on MacArthur's books?
get the Lifeworks, much better deal (more books). 3 of the books you mentioned are in the Lifeworks.
Michael you can't go wrong with his Rediscovering series (Expository Preaching - Pastoral Ministry - Biblical Counseling). The one that I liked the best was his Expository Preaching book.
Hope this helps.
mm.
MacArthur Library 2.0 would be the way to go. It has the MacArthur Study Bible and 3 MacArthur Commentaries that used to be sold separately or as a bundle before Moody left. 1 Timothy, 2 Timothy and Titus. My price, when I got it, was cheaper than yours since it had dynamic pricing and on top of that a 12 Days of Logos discount.

I vote Lifeworks also as the rest of the volumes in there are helpful. Unfortunately it's been too long since I bought it to give you specific help in more detail, other than to say when I bought it I read quite a few of the books, though none recently.
There is also an older Lifeworks 1.0 for MacArthur you sometimes find floating around in Christian bookstores etc. That has some duplication but also includes books not included in 2.0, as I recall.
Michael I was thinking about your question and thought of these books that meant a lot to me. Bryan Chapell's books impacted me the most and Bill Hull's came in a close second.
Living By Revealed Truth is a book I picked up a month or so ago. It's new and more of a bio than a how to. This book would be good for edification as you read the lives of those who have gone before us. And let me add one more thought. You may already be doing this or have in the past. What I found very helpful was to study not only my denominational history (baptist), but my ethno-religio background. With the latter I found numerous books on Logos that helped tremendously. Books about Anabaptists, Mennonites, Russia, Germany and Reformed resources. What a treat to read about where your great great grand parents lived. To see paintings or sketches of ones history etc.
From these readings and more I found that my feet have been more firmly planted and there's a sense of connection with the long and unfortunate past. So all and all, good luck with your search.

Thanks, but apparently the post is too old to be edited. My latest post can be edited but not that one.

Don't worry about it. It was an honest mistake.
