Hello,
I would like to see an "view update log" option on the Custimize Homepage menu, to view all recent updates and their information.
Thanks!
That would be great and also very productive for us end-users. We wouldn't be forced to discover what was added or fixed.
I agree. I have sent an email asking if something like this is available. I mean this morning I had a huge update added. What was it? Did I get something new? Can I print now? HA HA!!!! I hope someone is reading ths at Logos and responds.
Funny ... How I was think the same. We really need to know what in our updates.
This wouild help us know what's been added as a feature and what been fixed.
You're absolutely right, Logos should tell us the information within the program. However, the forum does tell us that the updates were some minor bug fixes and updated reverse interlinears (including the NLT - NT only - for the first time).
But we really should not have to dig through the forum to find those answers. It appears to me it would be relatively simply to add a message from Logos on our homepage or even on the website with a link for us to go there. For the amount of money that we have and are paying for this we should be able to have this information readily available to us. Again I hope someone is monitoring this. I think this would make a lot of people happy.
The update you are referring to was about 2 or 3 gig update. The update I received this morning was another 800mb. We need to know what is being added or fixed. Either way it would put a smile on our faces. I agree that it would be nice to know what other (if any) resources we are receiving from LOGOS. I am tired of seeing just a taskbar icon stating that I am receiving an update and not know what it is.
REMINDER: LOGOS 3 had a window with a description of the update.
The 800Mb was the reverse interlinears. The 2-3Gb before that was a while ago, but I think was a few updated resources, mostly some of the image resources. I agree 100% that Logos should optionally give some indication of what the download should be before it initiates/installs. It's one of the most requested features on this forum. But there's not yet been any official acknowledgement of these requests.
Again I hope someone is monitoring this. I think this would make a lot of people happy.
Yes, someone is monitoring this, and yes it would make a lot of us happy since this is the first things new users seem to request as soon as they hit the forums. Will Logos implement something? Probably, but they "seem" to be focusing on features that enhance the functionality of the product first. Maybe once the Mac version has gone gold, they will have time for this.
I agree... this would be nice but they have a good focus now with enhancing the functionality of the product.
+1 Many of us have been repetitively asking for this since L4's beta. We do get SR updates on the forum usually, but I agree that some kind of simply XML/RSS feed to the Logos homepage would be perfect.
As a non programmer, I think this should be simple since the framework is essentially in place. I just requires adding "post changes to xml" being added to the release workflow.
+1 One more vote for an easily accessible update log. I just received another update, completely unexpected. I have no idea what it was for. I thought I was already at the latest level and I was not expecting any additional resources. I would like to know what has been added or changed.
Add me to the list. L4 really could use a log of interaction with Logos.
Perhaps it would also be nice to tag recent acquisitions say "recent" or "new". The user could delete or replace the tag, but at least it would allow the library to be searched for new arrivals.
Also a log summarizing server interaction would be nice.
Another idea is to have some symbol that lets you know if you are internet enabled. I had turned of internet use in the L4 settings and forgot that it was set that way when I complained that a few new purchases were not showing up. Either/both a symbol of some sort (perhaps it exists and I haven't seen it) and a log would just make it easier not to miss such things.
Oh my word, yes!
I would also like to know what is being, or about to be, downloaded when the little blip comes up telling me it has started a download. But, yes, a post download log would be awesome. I've tried enabling logging to see what has been downloaded, but it is like reading Ugaric.
I might as well jump on this band wagon and add my vote for an update log. [Y]

Scoot over Jack, you don't want me landing on you.
Me too.
