I use Samsung Tablet and it works well.  Others say Nexus is best but I dont like that there is no external storage slot.  So what the best tablet is depends on your individual needs

Any recent tablet by a major name manufacturer should work well, e.g. Samsung, Acer, Lenovo, etc.  I would avoid Pantech and similar low end tablets, because their screens are mostly junk.  If you want an 7-8" tablet, look for minimum resolution of 1280x800.  If you want 10.1" tablet, look for one with higher resolution than 1280x800 so you get crisp text.  To me, anything above ~180ppi is great.  Below 150ppi is fuzzy, e.g. iPad 1 & 2.  Here's a tool to help you figure ppi/pixel density: http://pixeldensitycalculator.com/.

If you're going to download tons of books, look for one with SD card or even better get one with more main memory, but for most people 16GB will be plenty.  Unless you download everything in Logos plus try to store other large apps, movies, music on the tablet.

Also go for a recent version of Android.  Older versions may or may not get updated and features stop working on older tablets as time goes on, e.g. Google releases next version of Android but it doesn't roll out to 2-3 year old devices.

My preference to Android is  based on the fonts I want to use I have ipad air ,but I am not able to read the word documents unless I send them by e-mail as  PDF.I am going to be able to read ,but not to edit. What I want to do is to prepare on Desktop and  synchronize it using dropbox. If the price allows me I need a bigger size Android tablet ,on which I can run my Logos app and read my word documents.Everthing is  possible on the surface pro,but it is not affordable.

    Blessings in Christ.

I use a Nook HD+.  With it being an e-reader, the ability to get the Kindle Android app and the LOGOS, Vyrso, and Faithlife apps, I use it as my goto device when I do not have my Windows 8 laptop.  Its biggest limitation is the 8.9" screen - I would prefer more screen space.

What I want to do is to prepare on Desktop and  synchronize it using dropbox.

You can do this with Word documents when syncing to iPad

Sync using Dropbox and then open in Pages.

Graham the problem is,it is not possible to use the Geez fonts in apple products. The fonts are only integrated in Windows. It is not possible to edit in Android ,but it is possible to read.

    Hi Tes,

i can view a Word doc in the Nexus7 using the free version of Astro File manager. But cannot edit the file.

Below is a copy of a Word doc as viewed on my Nexus7, which also includes Amharic text being shown.

EDIT: below is another image of my Nexus7 viewing the docx while zooming in the app (thought you might like to see the resolution of the text when zoomed)

Oh, I have two Nook HD - it's the 7" model and I'm perfectly pleased with it:

    How is this one?

You need to know that the Nexus7 is considerably smaller than an iPad (my son & daughter-in-law have iPads). The screenshots that i sent seem to be bigger than the actual display size of the Nexus7. i was just letting you know that at least one Android device shows your Amharic font.

i also made an error in my post. The app 'Astro File manager' allows me to move files from my PC to the Nexux7. It acts a lot like windows explorer (a file manager). i found a free version on the Google app store. The image below shows 'Astro File manager' and you can see the file stored on the Nexus.

In the image below is an app which displays the Word doc (Quickoffice). i am not sure where it came from, i may have found it in the app store or it may have been part of the Google install of Android OS. It is the app that showed the doc file in my previous Reply.

The other app shown in the above image (Kingsoft Office) is also a free version that i got off the Google app store. It also shows Word docs. It also has a Reading Mode which hides everything but the Word doc (no menubar or such visible in Reading Mode). The image below is Kingsoft Office showing the Amharic docx file.

As for a good deal on the link you showed me, i don't know. Best i can tell looking at the German text is that it is almost the same as my Nexus but has more memory.
