Hurry and Save on New Upgrades!

I'm sure is no brainer, but if you are thinking about upgrading to any of the new base packages (e.g. Anglican, Reformed, etc.) do so while you can take advantage of the dynamic pricing and 15% off discount. I'm telling you, these bundles (BP's) are a great and cheap way to build up your library.

I keep looking at Anglican Diamond, Reformed Platinum, Lutheran Gold, Verbum Capstone, and though I see a few things I like, I just can't bring myself to make a move. It's like swallowing 1000 lima beans to get one cherry. I still would like to see a Biblical Studies base package, or some permutation of the Unobtanium package.

Agreed on the Anglican package. I do have reformed platinum, and I'm unsure whether I want the lutheran packages or not, I haven't spent any time looking at those (or verbum) as I already have more "want" than "wallet".

I think it is helpful to Logos that we do not all look at the new Base Packages through the same lens.

For me the decision was simple: buying Anglican Diamond for $YYY allowed me to cancel twice $YYY in pre-pubs, some with near term release dates others still "under contract" and a couple still "gathering interest" as well as cancelling a few community pricing bids.
(Web Site since updated so you no longer need to worry about "do it yourself" cancellations: it automatically grays out what is included in the base packages but not yet released, both in prepubs and in community pricing).

Yes I am sure there were a few Lima beans in the package that I will never use, but then again I never expected to get ICC at no additional cost, and I now have ICC included in what was already a great deal for me. (could never bring myself to pay the full price for ICC nor even the relatively high discounted prices offered from time to time).

Another thread tells of a user with the Old Testament for Everyone series in their pre-pub orders only to find they could get a base package including it for less than the pre-pub price.

If you have some significant upcoming pre-pub orders, it may be well worth doing the math and checking if they are included in one of the new denominational Base Packages: you may get a lower cost for the cherries you want (even if you do need to download as well a few of what might currently seem like Lima beans).

There is some overlap betwen the high end packages, so chose wisely. It seems best to go for the highest level package first. Lower levels in the other denominational packages then reduce even more significantly in their dynamic price to you. If you have recently seperately purchased a collection included in one of the new base packages and are still within the allowable "return" window, you may be able to get a credit towards the new base package including it. That alone may make it worthwhile to act early rather than wait, depending on what other purchases you might have made (including any recent seperate prepubs now in a base package). Everyone will have their own unique situation based on purchase history and existing pre-pub orders, so do the math carefully for your own situation: you might be pleasantly surprised.

I use John and Maggie. Both are outstanding! Every now and then, when they're not available, I'll use Tom or Darrin (not sure if that's his name. My old time favorite used to be Jim Ray but he no longer works there.

That is not my experience with Dave. I make several purchases every week, some huge but most small. Dave treats me well no matter what the size of my order. (That is just my experience.)

I was not making small purchases. John has benefitted greatly because Dave Kaplan couldn't be bothered. I would not recommend anyone new trying to work with Dave. I am sure he looks after his existing customers well, just doesn't seem all that interested in new ones.

I apologize if Dave was too busy (He is a popular guy.) He may even have been helping me at that moment. I have been a prolific buyer of Logos since 2008 and have dealt with Dave, John, Maggie, Santiago and others. My observation is all Logos sales reps are good. If someone is a bad sales rep they don't last long. I still heartily recommend Dave Kaplan but you can use any sales rep you want. (Dave Kaplan probably trained them anyway.)

I don't see how Logos is marketing these packages. The Lutheran base package is currently featured on the front page of the site, but I searched in vain for a link to other specialized base packages. I finally got to https://www.logos.com/reformed by taking the Lutheran URL and replacing "lutheran" with "reformed". What's the magic key that I am missing?
