A9 Indexer running into trouble with reverse interlinears

Hey Dev Team,

A9 is re-indexing. Checked on the indexer.log because I was curious and noticed that the log keeps posting repeated problems with interlinears. I have tons of posts that read along the lines of

"12/30/2009 18:56:47 | ERROR | 5 | LogosResourceIndexer | Invalid reference 'bible+kjv.17.9.0'; cannot get reverse interlinear data. "

I'm having the exact same issue.

There also seems to be glitch in the updater, mine says "Downloading Updates, 140% of 719 MB"

I'm pleased to see that the Mac version now has the same number of resources in the library as the Windows version, up until now there were 8 books less.

Funny you should mention that. We were talking with one of the Windows devs who did a lot of reverse interlinear work and he said that the message is not really an error. It was initially there to detect problems in the new RVI resources. That error message has since been removed on Windows but it still shows up on Mac. It does not indicate a problem with the resource or the indexer. We'll silence that message before the next alpha.

We do have the latest base code. The error is due to a needed update in how the log is reporting the info, not in the code itself.

I believe my problem is different from the one Michael reported. The Indexer seems to be in an endless loop with an error indicating that No Reverse Interlinear Data Found.

Actually, I responded from my Palm Pre and I had previously logged in to library.logos.com from there with my personal account so I could keep up with my reading plan on my phone. I was a Logos user before I was an employee and I actually have 2 Logos accounts, one I use for my personal stuff and the other as my "official" employee account.

And I thought the Mac guys got the lastest base code

There is a small percentage of non-UI code that could not be shared between Windows and the Mac for technical reasons. This error message just happened to be in that non-shared Mac-only code.

I peeked at your log (I hope you don't mind [:$]). It looks very similar to mine.

I don't think this is an endless loop because there does not appear to be duplicate entries.

It is working through a lot of resources that don't have the interlinear data that it is looking for but it seems to be making progress through discreet entries.

I assume it will eventually finish.

I peeked at your log (I hope you don't mind ). It looks very similar to mine.

I try not to post anything on public forums that I would mind someone else reading. If it provides insight and advances the cause of L4 Mac, have a ball. Even if you are just curious, read on.

Interesting. After my previous post, I cancelled indexing. It immediately restarted without A-9 and finished sometime overnight. However, I soon ran into my old nemesis, the spinning pizza, which I reported in another thread.

Mine eventually finished also.

This hasn't been confirmed to my knowledge but my best guess is that those messages had to do with the creation of the new Bible only index.

I've got a lot of spinning pizza action also. And the program is still too sluggish for any practical work. But it usually resolves itself without crashing.

Spinning pizzas are not catastrophic until the never end. If I depress Cmd-Option-Escape and the force quit menu says "Not Responding", I usually decide it has frozen and terminate the application.
