Updates?

All,

When I started Logos today (VMWare Fusion - running XP), the program notified me that it was downloading update worth 882 mb. I'm curious, how much more space is Logos 4 going to take up? Granted, space is not so much an issue but I am curious, given that I have had to resize the vbox not just once, if I'll be downloading a gig at at time when getting updates. Thanks all.

Thanks for the note and links. But I read through the links (or at least tried to) and found nothing that really answered my question. Maybe there is no answer, who knows! I had to cancel indexing - 102 hrs for Mac and I'm not sure how long the V-Fusion XP ver has.

Indexing always takes less time than it says. It's wise, however to keep a good amount of free space with Logos (several gig, at least). The free space is needed to ensure that new resources are able to be downloaded, and so that the indexer can create temporary files. Having said that, most of the 880Mb downloaded will replace files already on your computer (only one is new, the rest are updates).

Mark is right. My indexing has been going for 45 minutes and says it is 3 minutes from finished. It will likely be, from my experience, about that now.

He's also right that this download is full of updates - new Interlinears for example. These will replace the old resource, but because they have more data will take up some additional space.

How much space yours will take is impossible to say as it varies by number and type of resources. How long it will take to index is also impossible to say as it varies depending whether it is a full index or supplemental and by processor, other activity, etc.
