I think Logos got confused between Reverse Interlinears and Reverse Indexing LOL [;)]
118 and counting
I dont have 112 but its big. What is this download from Jim or whoever????
Every time I post Logos adds one hour, I better stop

I just can't help myself... 131 hours left [:P]
Can anyone beat this... 132
Your just making her angry!
Maybe the speed of your searches will be inversely proportional to the length of your indexing.
You will have negative search times at this rate!

What are these large downloads of Jim???
Joe, the forum statistics shows 0 views and 7 replies on this thread. That is funny considering Jerry & Russ have already posted.
Does anybody have an idea what the 807mb download is?
Also, is my hard drive supposed to make a loud vibrating sound while indexing? I'm starting to worry about it...[:|] [:S] [:'(]
Interlinears.
Still climbing
ever higher

INTERVENTION!
Joe, just step away from the computer, brother.
Exit the screen grab utility!
Don't make us come over there!
I think I can get to your place from Tennessee before your indexing is done.
If my indexing estimate catches up to my post count, I will officially call this a bug... 137 hours.

138 hours...
I am almost sad to report, indexing has gone down to 91 hours [:(]
Practically finished!
Down to 79 hours [:O]
DId you happen to measure temperature or fan speed at the peak?
Mine took about 5hours, but it is completed. All is well!
BTW, only 20 hours left.. time sure flies when you are having fun, eh? It seemed like only minutes ago there was another 110 hours left.
I think it is safe to say my indexing will be done before 2010.... only 10 hours left
No. It never got hot though because I am running a full size fan behind the laptop to guarantee no overheating. BTW, only 20 hours left.. time sure flies when you are having fun, eh? It seemed like only minutes ago there was another 110 hours left.

I stole this idea from you I put my fan behind my laptop so it wouldn't overheat!!!
Wow! Mine only took 2 hrs 43 minutes.
1Gb ram, 130 Gb hard drive, Toshiba laptop, 2 years old.
Okay, the final result.
Indexing took around 3 hours.
I would like to report that I think the indexing estimate may be slightly off... [;)]
I can get to his place from London by the time the indexing is done!
Joe,
that's really funny....(PC guys DO have a sense of humor)
the download is NLT interlinear, some new "popups" among other things and some bug fixes...I did notice and it's been reported that Logos is "noticeably" snapper after the update...
Joe, Thank you for the laugh, brother. I needed that!
My indexing first showed 13 minutes, then shot up to 9 hours and rising for just clicking with the mouse a few times in another application. When I shut down all other applications and let L4 go, it dropped drastically. You've probably already noticed this by now, but thought I would share this in case others are wondering what the deal is with an ever-rising-indexing process. Estimates are way off if you use your computer at all during the indexing.
Have a blessed New Year everyone, and enjoy your new L4 features and rediscovered resources!

Me too... I was having fun...
is it done?
I could get there from Chile!
it´s 7 hours and 57 minutes to go for me
It keeps saves them form suicide [:D]
it indexed for the first time (after announcing an 8 hour indexing). I closed the program, opened it again and its indexing again for 3 hours and climbing...
what is happening?
Okay, the final result. Indexing took around 3 hours. I would like to report that I think the indexing estimate may be slightly off...

We're using the same algorithm that the Windows code uses for estimating indexing time...and...well...the guys at Microsoft set a pretty low bar for estimation quality: http://xkcd.com/612/
Thanks for having fun reading along guys and for commenting, it made it even more amusing to share the roller-coaster ride [<:o)]
In truth, the 3 hours it took to index was 2 hours less than when I reindexed for Alpha 8 so aside from the estimation being a tad off (thanks MS guys) the indexing is actually much improved and A9 seems to run even a bit faster.
Nicely done for all our Logos developers [*]

Do you actually mean that Microsoft would set a low performance standard! I am shocked! [:^)]

Just be careful if you get to the point you decide to break out the ice!
Seriously I recently purchased a Cooler Master Notepal X2 for my Macbook Pro.It is a laptop holder that can fit on your lap or on your desk with big fan that runs off of your USB power and blows a lot of air onto the bottom of your laptop. It drops the temperature of my laptop enough that the laptop's own fans hardly ever run and the surface stays cool to the touch.I can highly recommend it.
You know they do make water cooled systems. I may be wrong but Joe's fan looks more like a heater to me.
[:@] (Oh it's hot in here!)
my Indexing time is up again to 17 hours!
is it a bug? what is there to do?
Its heating up my MacBook too, and speeding up fans... [ip]
up again... 31 hours...
did I mention this is the second time it is indexing with A9?
Not a bug Felipe just in imprecise indexing estimation.
If you a concerned about heating, use a fan like I have been doing.
Joe, Instead of the big fan, I use something similar to this:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000I6F0T2/ref=pd_lpo_k2_dp_sr_2?pf_rd_p=486539851&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe-1&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B000GBGPAW&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=1C0378A8ZM0T8AJC6EGH
It saves a lot of hassle with respect to overheating.
I picked that from Amazon for demonstration purposes only. They are less expensive elsewhere.
God bless

I tried one of those (not that brand though) and it only heated up things near the USB port LOL Maybe yours is a better model though if it is obviously working on your Mac. My option was just cheaper since I already had the fan :-)
I've tried two models.
The first one had multiple smaller fans and did not help that much.
The one I mentioned earlier has one really big fan inside a plastic body with big vents in the back and bottom and a mesh metal top.
It really moves a lot of air over the whole bottom of the laptop.
Plus it has a really cool blue LED light that glows. No tangible benefits from that but my 3 yr old seems to think it is pretty neat.
Keeping your laptop as cool as possible has two proactive benefits:
