I would like the ability to cycle through a set filters one at a time rather than having them always be additive. For example:
- first I use a filter that identifies words for which I have to find their meaning by context (pronoun antecedents etc.)
- then I use a filter that identifies words critical to creating a block diagram (or arcing ...)
- then I use a filter that marks changes between the Bible text and the lectionary text (to which an oral emphasis filter may be added)
- then I use a filter for rhetorical devices
- then I use a filter for documentary criticism
- then I use a filter for form criticism ...
I don't want them all at once but the current mechanism for turning filters on and off is awkward if one has many filters ... being able to define sets of filters to click through applying one at a time would be a huge advantage. It would also make it easier to share filters without concern of "clashing filter markups".
Obviously some of these could be handled by giving the users the ability to tag texts as is done for discourse analysis and morphology but that's a more complex solution - maybe even overkill for most of us.
