Bug: Reading Plan Links inactive.

The items on a reading plan are not always active ... that is to say that clicking on them does not take you to the relevant place in the resource.

This might be by design for readings marked as read (not sure why though) ... but it should not be the case for readings that are yet to be read.

Even though you cannot see it, my mouse is hovering over the blue 'Pages 855-860' for Monday's reading (I am actually ahead [:O] ). Although the text is blue (suggesting a hyperlink) it should turn orange and give a popup ...

Hovering on Apr 29 link ( or any below will work as normal). Hovering on the Monday reference (or any above that) does not produce an action.

I do not know if this is related to the text change from weekdays to actual dates ...

I am reading NICOT Romans (Moo), and using the latest Beta ( 5.2.1.0067 ) on a MBP.

Martin I am not able to reproduce this on Mavericks in 5.2.1.0067. [:(] All my Reading Plan hyperlinks are always active when I hover over them.

What if you restart the app? Does the issue go away?

Hi Angela.

It has now happened a couple of times more times now.

I have just loaded a reading plan and immediately find the links inoperable. My library panel rows are still changing colours as I move the mouse ... their links are still working (links change colour and load resources). My favourites panel still loads resources. My reading plan is dead.

But here is the strange bit that I have found ... putting L5 into full screen mode (simply clicking on the icon) restores the links to operable.

My actual workflow was

Restart L5 (new resources available). I was in full screen mode for the restart, using the icon by the layouts menu.
Deal with the inevitable crash report box (it crashed yesterday with the 'tagging memory leak' issue)
L5 restarts in windowed mode
Load Reading plan ... it has dead links on load

Not sure if this helps ... I will keep posting here if I notice a way of triggering this.

and by the time I finish post and go back to L5 ... the links have stopped working age in, even in full screen mode ... hmmmmm [8-)]

and then they are back again ... [*-)]

All I am doing is swiping between full screen Safari and L5.

... back to the head scratching ...

Documents Menu
Open a reading plan ... the plan opens in a floating window and the links turn orange when the mouse hovers over them
Drag the reading plan's tab to another panel from the floating window
The links are now 'dead' for the dragged plan ... other reading plans are still normal.
Moving in/out of full screen mode restores the link functionality.

Dragging a reading plan tab between panels does not cause a problem.
