Music files (MIDI) not working in Logos 5

I am running Logos 5 on Windows 8.1. The MIDI files are not working. The other sound features such as read aloud are working.
I believe that Microsoft has reduced MIDI file support in Windows 8.1. I have downloaded a utility programe together with a sound font file, to make the MIDI files play music. I can only play a limited amount of hymns before the MIDI player again stops playing music. I then have to reset the computer. I could play an unlimited number of hymns on the older versions of Windows.
Please could you let me know how to get MIDI files to play music again without any restrictions.
I also suggest that Logos include another type of sound file, such as mp3, in the Logos hymnals and Steve Green's Midi Hymnal.
Thank you.

Hi Martin
While you're waiting for a more direct reply, have you seen this thread: https://community.logos.com:443/forums/p/83573/585881.aspx
Judging from that thread, MIDI works; either there's a hiccup somewhere or the others haven't noticed it stops running after a while?

Hi Martin,
I have been having the same problem with my computer. this has been happening for me even back in Windows 7-64bit. I would be able to play a few hymns and then it would stop playing.
I spoke with tech support and they suggested that it was most likely a sound driver with my computer. I have not been able to confirm it yet, but will try to work around that.
Shalom,
Kevin
