Create a basic text editor for editing personal book entries. including deleting page breaks that show up as spaces in paragraphs, correcting spelling/grammar, moving bibliographies and creating usable table of contents.
I may be misunderstanding your request, but Microsoft Word can perform all these tasks, and it creates the docx file that is the input to Personal Book Builder.
There are also free alternatives, such as LibreOffice, that can author docx files.
My experience with word is that when it comes to page breaks logos puts a big space in the middle of the paragraphs and it'd be nice to find a way to delete those within logos without having to redo the book a few times to get it right.
Sounds like you're hitting some hidden page/section breaks. Turn on the hidden markers in Word and scope them out.
