When I have a blank screen and I type ESV in the command search space, the bible opens or whatever OPENS on the left hand side, I want it to open on the left. . . Does anyone know how to do it?
Pastor Smith there is no way to change the default behavior of the software and have it open new resources on the left hand side of a blank layout. There has been lots of discussion about this and you are not alone in desiring the ability to change this default behaviour. Logos have indicated the workflow has been setup so that resources will open on the right hand side and on the left hand side is reserved for guides (passage, exegetical etc.) and user created documents (notes, visual filters etc).

I think you mean it opens on the right, but you want it to open on the left.

Though it is correct that you can't change the default behavior, you can override it. After typing ESV, when you see Logos's suggested matches for that title in the dropdown menu below the command bar, drag the command "Open English Standard Version" to the left half of the layout, where you want it to open.

Good tip on dragging the resource to the left hand side.I was not aware of that as personally with a two monitor setup default behaviour is ok for my workflow. WIll now try to store that fact away for future reference for others. Thanks Rosie, hope this helps the OP.
I'm aware of the click and drag function. Your answer was more tailored to what I wanted. It easier for me to type in the command part and it enter, rather than, type, click, drag and release.... I don't know why I'm just now noticing it and it's bother me. . .
