And considering the social shifts taking place (such as "anti-hate" laws that could/do make proclaiming Biblical teaching into a crime), I'm surprised that this small collection hasn't gotten more traction...

I've always felt religion is the best place to store hate. Maintain pecking orders. Distinguish skin color and especially race. Rationalize slavery. And build really neato edifices to the rich.
The big danger is society co-opting religion by being nice.
Getting mighty human there, Denise.
Well, if you're in the mission business and need market-share, locations whose moral/ethical standards are higher than the 'product' being offered are not likely to pay off well.
This showed up in Japan (as perceived by the 'natives' there), and also here among the Navajo (again as perceived by the 'natives').
I suspect the same situation exists with the 'natives' in Europe. People sort of expect the gods to be better than the humans.

I would suggest that the operative word "expect", whether in religious or theological contexts, is a very slippery slope indeed. I would further suggest that everyone kill any and all expectations they have about Biblical deity (not only are they almost certain to lead you astray, they are nothing less than idolatry) and let the deity reveal Himself. Not only does YHWH specialize in crushing false expectations (and those who hold them), He makes it rather clear that He has no problem setting traps for those who expect Him to be what He is not.
