In Faithlife, when I click on "members" it shows the members of my group and 1 "observer"...any idea on who this is...not a problem, just curious.

I do not think Faithlife will allow you to find out.

EDIT: if you meant "my group" the one you are admin of, and Faithlife doesn't list them, then it may well be that this is on purpose - the tool tip in the joining dialogue calls it "anonymous observer". Thus it may be on purpose that Faithlife doesn't lists observers the way it does with members and followers. Actually I don't know a group that has them.

Generally speaking, observers are just another class of group members, typically those with the least level of access. Group admins may allow the level of information access and participation per level, with higher levels always including the access rights of lower levels.

People may opt to join a group as observers, followers (if these levels are present) or members and may switch their level according to the mode of participation they desire.

However, it seems to me that if you as an admin don't want observers, you may disallow them by unchecking the box in the user permissions setting.

Update: This is a curious thing - as I wrote above, I don't know of any group with observers. The reason for this seems to be that Faithlife doesn't show the number or existence of observers (I tested this with a second account). So there might be dozens of observers in my groups but I can't see it...

So there seems to be a glitch somewhere in the software that you can even see there is 1 observer - it doesn't show for my groups (even with a newly created group). Actually I'd like to know...

Care to share a screenshot of the members view and the group settings?

I confess that I am an observer in some groups.  It lets me check out some others, eg.

Thanks, that makes sense...I don't nearly utilize Faithlife the way I would like to...unfortunately I am not very adept at providing screenshots...I went back in and tried to recreate what I did to see that there were 3 members and 1 observer, and I can't remember...seems like I hovered or clicked on something and it showed just like that..."3 Members, 1 Observer" ...thanks again for the info; there are probably updates that I have received on Faithlife that I didn't explore like I should...had probably just forgotten that being an observer is an option--anybody who travels to Biblion Study Group is welcome though...God bless!
