I noticed that some people were complaining about handwriting recognition in notes. I don't know if this is related but since logos 5 Apple dictation no longer works in notes. I'm using OS X Mavricks.
Logos has built their own note engine, which unfortunately means the loss of some OSX features that came along "free" when they were using the OSX notes engine. This includes dictation and spell check.
