Greek Audio NT under L4

I purchased Greek Audio NT under L3 but it doesn't seem to be available to me under L4.  I realise I can use the 'read aloud' facility but that doesn't have the same quality.  I read on the Logos web site "When an audio
resource like the Greek Audio New Testament is present, Logos 4 can
play the audio for your book. If no audio is available, it will use
your computer’s voice to turn any resource into an audio book." so it seems I should have access to it?

Any suggestions?

Thanks

My Greek Audio NT is working fine in L4.

Which Greek text are you using?

It only works with the following texts:

    • Nestle-Aland Greek New Testament, 27th Edition With GRAMCORD(TM) Greek New Testament Alpha Morphological Database
    • Nestle-Aland Greek New Testament, 27th Edition, Without Morphology
    • Nestle-Aland Greek New Testament, 27th Edition With GRAMCORD(TM) Greek New Testament Alpha Morphological Database and McReynolds English Interlinear
    • Analytical Greek New Testament
    • The Swanson New Testament Greek Morphology (UBS 4th Edition)
    • The Swanson New Testament Greek Morphology (Westcott-Hort Edition)
    • Nestle-Aland Novum Testamentum Graece Editio XXVII (available in the Stuttgart Electronic Study Bible (SESB) Version 2.0)
    • The ESV English-Greek Reverse Interlinear New Testament
Note that it will not work with the UBS text.

Also, what version are you using? I am using 4.0a. I'm not sure if it worked in 4.0 or not.

When you choose Read aloud, does the panel by the Layout selector look like this

    A)  image

    or this?

    B)  image

Thanks, Russ.  I get panel  B).

Under L3 I could alter the speed of reading, but with this panel, I don't seem to get this option?  Oh, and I'm using 4.0a - it's actually just auto loaded yet another version - SR-2?  A tad frustrating the way L4 just chooses to update and you don't know what's happening, but that's another subject!

If you hit CTRL-R in the Nestle-Aland text (or one of the others listed above), you should see panel A and hear the recorded voice of the narration from the Greek Audio Bible.

I've tried all of the following with the same result:

    • Nestle-Aland Greek New Testament, 27th Edition With GRAMCORD(TM) Greek New Testament Alpha Morphological Database
    • Nestle-Aland Greek New Testament, 27th Edition, Without Morphology
    • Nestle-Aland Greek New Testament, 27th Edition With GRAMCORD(TM)
Greek New Testament Alpha Morphological Database and McReynolds English
      Interlinear

Panel A flashes momentarily and then invariably panel B shows.

    John,

You seem to be doing everything right.

Sounds like you just have something wrong with your install (corrupted file, perhaps) that will require contacting tech support.

My suggestion is to enable logging and send your problem to tech support per the instructions found here.

Basically, you just exit Logos, hold the CTRL key down while you restart it, and sign in.

Open the appropriate resource and start the Read aloud function.

After verifying that it is still not working, exit Logos.

E-mail the log file to tech at logos.com along with a description of your problem.

Be sure to describe the problem including which version of Logos you are using, which Greek text you are attempting to have read, and most importantly that the panel A flashes momentarily and then changes to panel B. That is really important information for them. Feel free to download the screen shots above and attach them to your e-mail if you wish.

I am confident they can help you resolve this issue.

Thanks for your help, Russ!  If/when I have a resolution, I'll post the result here.

Hi John, I had the exact same problem when I switched to L4. Someone told me that it works only with Nestle-Aland XXVII, and in fact that worked for me. It doesn't work for my NA 26th. Gary

    Thanks, Gary

I get the text read aloud, but can't alter its speed as I can under L3.  Not being highly efficient in Greek I need to be able to slow the audio down.  Can you do that?

Ah, I see that was your other question. No, I don't see it anywhere.

With this and all things, a couple of weeks and we'll all be pros, but for now...!

You can change the speed in Control Panel.  Where it is (Speech Recognition/Text to Speech in mine) varies based on version of Windows and 32 or 64 bit versions, but here is a picture of mine so you can see the slider to control speed:

Okay...now I just need to know where to find Control Panel and Speech Properties, since Help doesn't recognize either term...\

Oh, hold on, THAT control panel, in Windows, okay...still, that's pretty awkward, compared to having it right in Logos itself.

It seems a good idea - I had tried that before, but it works for all English 'read aloud' but not for the Greek!  So we still don't have a solution.  Thanks Dominick for the suggestion, though!
