I and II are not sublevels to Written in Spain. They are the main sections under ii. Monastic Canticles. The Written in... sections are just lists of abbreviations used in those main sections.

The same goes for other parts of the book, of course.
The typography may also need some adjustment. It looks like a sublevel in the text as well. I bet it doesn't in the printed book.
