the automatic update was installed and when i "install update", it shows the following error message "update error: an error occurred while extracting the archive. please try again later. cancel update" what am i to do?

Are you seeing this error with Logos 5 - on Windows or Mac?
If so, suggest you try reinstalling the latest version using the appropriate link at https://www.logos.com/install
