Did Morris Proctor Make a Suggestion Today?

It sure looks like a suggestion to me:

- First he notes how the design is confusing, some tools opening all different ways

- Then he just assumes (maybe having taught one or two students I guess) that moving a solidly glued in panel is often desired

- Then he explains where to buy the chisel, wearing protective glasses, and hitting the tab just right.

I only mention this having watched the number of people since 2009, provide tips on how to unglue the various panels.

Yea, Morris!! His Bellingham classes really look attractive, viewed from hot smoky Sedona. I'd have to wear a disguise to get into Logos HQ (they have specially trained Denise-guards that dress up very similar to bicycles outside).

Been thinking about you, Denise, with the news of the fire around Sedona. I hope your home is not in an at-risk zone, and that you've got adequate protection to avoid smoke inhalation.

I've also been meaning to ask you about your avatar. Do you play Go? I learned to play (never very well) a long time ago and recently resurrected that rusty skill by downloading a Go app to my phone. It's a game that fascinates me, because it seems to be unconquerable (so far) by computers. How good are you?

Perhaps a beard with thinning grey hair and (probably) put on a few pounds.  [;)]  Before you know it you'll look like a 38 yr old.  [:D]

George, I'd probably only need the beard!

Rosie, thank you for your concern. Our pastor has his clift-sitting house maybe a couple miles below the fire.  It hasn't gone up in smoke; it's just filled with smoke!  Philosophically, these areas are super-dry sand, and really don't support trees except in wet times.  Fire simply points out the obvious  (probably like judgment day).

Yes, the avatar is Go!  Best game ever invented (perfected by the Japanese of course). My favorite apps are Smart Go Kifu, and PandaNet.  I used to play at Texas Instruments, and the pressure was just unbearable. My spouse tried really hard to be sympathetic. Definitely not chess. I like Go as a philosophy; playing historical games, a single move says everything.  Naive hope, stupidly agressive, and a game only started, stopped due to bad aji.  Westerners think as in chess ... proofs, logic, being right. Easterners think influence, pseudo-threats, and relationships.

I shelled out the big bucks for Crazy Stone (Champion Go) after reading an article about it being the first program to defeat a human. I know nothing about the subtleties yet. It seems like an ideal game for lifelong learners. I probably don't have the time to spend with it to become good, but I'd love to. I played in the chess club in high school, came in 2nd in a Western MA tournament (out of only 4; they'd separated it out so that girls only played against girls which was kind of cheesy -- I could take on the boys in my own club).

Haven't played in years, George, and don't have time right now.

    Black resigns.
