For general public discussion with the largely unaffiliated population of the Pacific Northwest, I find it useful to read the books on Christianity that are popular publically. Therefore, I suggest that Logos carry the following - and I'm sure others can add to the list easily.

  • Zealot: The Life and Times of Jesus of Nazareth by Reza Aslan
  • The Misunderstood Jew by Amy-Jill Levine
  • James the Brother of Jesus: The Key to Unlocking the Secrets of Early Christianity and the Dead Sea Scrolls by Robert H. Eisenman
  • Reading Judas: The Gospel of Judas and the Shaping of Christianity by Elaine Pagels and Karen L. King
  • God: A Biography by Jack Miles
  • Christ: A Crisis in the Life of God by Jack Miles
  • History of God by Karen Armstrong
  • Killing Jesus: A History by Bill O'Reilly and Martin Dugard

Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."
