Wiki says the songs in the logos hymnals are royalty-free. So why don't we have the option to download them our computer? I have an iMac with OS X Mavericks. What's the location and the format of these files on the hard drive?
Haven't a clue, Mike (what format and where Logos stores the MIDI's).
You save them by right-clicking on the blue word MIDI, then select 'Media' in the right column of the panel. That then gives you the choice to save them (standard MIDI file).
They're pretty basic. If you want to separate the parts, you'll need a select high/low to strip them off and write them to different instruments/staffs.
On My Mac when you right click it only says open
Well, Mike, sounds like there's a problem (as your thread suggests).
I wonder if another Mac user can try it. This is the first I've heard of no 'save' choice on the Mac version. Saving MIDI's goes back a ways in the Logos products.

I just tried it on my iMac running Mavericks 10.9.3 and Mike is correct. There is no "save" feature that I can find. I do remember being able to save Midi files even going way back to the Logos Library Days when I ran it in Windows 95.
However, there are several Christian web sites that offer royalty free downloads of Midi files and other Christian music. Do a Google search and you should be able to find them.
In Christ,
Charles
Well, obviously the Mac version ought to be able to save.
But Charles' suggestion (which I've done previously) is a good choice. I never really was able to use the Logos MIDI's. Even if I split them out, they were muddy in an instrument mix. In an organ mix it got even worse. But good MIDI hymns are hard to come by (I'm referring to how well the MIDI is produced).
We have had this conversation before it seems : http://community.logos.com/forums/t/36590.aspx

I guess even the little disk image disappeared?
I suppose since they're finalizing Logos6, that the 'I' in MIDI may have now disappeared too.
It's a frightening thought.
I wish I could remember what I write!
What resource are you trying to do this from, MIke? Can you post a screenshot of the resource panel?
