First time indexing again after new update and a purchase!

Ok, things were fine for a while, since February of this year (I think).  I would purchase books (even a couple of freebies from Vyrso) and the indexing went fine...until the new update that just installed.  Things were fine, but I purchased the Africa Commentary and things went bad.  First time indexing showed, but it took 4 hours to index everything.  Today I purchased one more book and the Chrysostom freebie and again, first time indexing underway.  The question comes up: What's the point of Logs if there's no way around fixing the "first time indexing" process? From what others have pointed out in the past, it's a matter of trying different things to see if one of them fixes it, but the annoying process has to take place yet again.  Anyway, maybe the logs might find something different.  Is there a way in the wiki page that shows you how to read the logs?

your Indexer error log shows several "database disk image is malformed" errors, SQLite couldn't open some indexes on your machine. Maybe there's a hardware problem looming.

When I had indexer issues some time ago, Bradley advised to run the indexer manually with a certain logging feature and basically it turned out that my HD was developing problems. I switched to an SSD and am a much more happy Logos user since then.
