Will L4 Notes in Windows transfer to L4 Mac Version now or even later?

I currently am running Windows L4 in VMware3 using Windows XP SP3. As I build notes quickly in the Windows L4 version, I am getting skeptical about going too far since I am not sure that those notes will be able to be imported into the Mac version when I load and use it within the next 6 months.

My question is: will the notes I take in L4 for Windows transfer easily to the Mac version? Will it do this now? Is note taking suitable now in the Mac version?

The underlying code for Mac and Windows versions of L4 are identical. Whatever you do in Windows will be automatically synched in the Mac. However, Notes is one of the features that is not yet available in the Mac version. When it is implemented, your notes should automatically appear.

I have one question, however...when you say they will automatically appear, does that mean while installing L4 for Mac, it will ask whether I want to import Notes from the Windows L4 version, or I will need to export Notes from the Windows version for importing into the Mac version. I am not sure how they are going to talk cross-platform as you have indicated; unless my notes are being backed up on a Logos 4 server somewhere that will pull them down upon installing Mac L4.

I hope my question makes sense.

Nope, they are part of the famous (or infamous) syncing that happens across the Internet. I use L4 on 2 different computers, when I make notes in one, they are automatically replicated on the other.

Ok, I understand now....I will have to ensure that Use Internet is enabled in both to get this to work. Correct? I currently have Use Internet disabled in the Win L4 version, so when I finally install Mac L4, I will need to get it enabled, or.. I can just command type "sync now" correct?

I do like the syncing function, however, I like it to do this when I want, not automatically. I am assuming I can "command" it do sync while keeping "use internet" turned off.

Terry is correct for the reason stated in your question. They can talk cross-platform because they both use the same underlying code. It is the interface that the Mac Development Team is creating now. Mac and Windows use different methods/software for display and interaction with the application. In 6 months or so both versions will look very much alike (except for some cool Mac only features, as Bob P has hinted).

Someone else will have to answer this question. I leave the internet turned on. With 700,000 users, I am not particularly worried that Bob will steal my Bible Study notes. [8-|]

Tentative yes. I just tried it with the use internet off, and it appeared to work, but I am too lazy to walk into my office and check my other computer until my coffee cup is empty. [;)]

Yes, the internet must be turned on for both systems for it to sync.
