Searching and proximity

I'm researching communion ecclesiology, so I'm searching on ["communion" AND "ecclesiology" OR "communion" AND "church"] (without the brackets). Any way to control proximity? I get a lot of results with the 2nd word so far away it makes the source irrelevant - bunches of results with church, then pretty far down I'll find an instance of the 2nd word, which doesn't serve me. I already tried "communion ecclesiology" but that search yields literally 4 hits in 2 sources and I've got Capstone +!

My question may actually point to the fact that I need some tutorial on advanced searching. I've been thru the videos but they seem a little light. Maybe I should revisit.

(communion WITHIN 8 WORDS ecclesiology) OR (communion WITHIN 8 WORDS church)

Experiment with the following

(communion NEAR ecclesiology) OR (communion NEAR church)

And you can even simplify that expression by using the list operator (comma):

communion NEAR (ecclesiology, church)

The list operator works kind of like OR but there are some differences, since OR cannot be substituted for the comma in the above expression; OR cannot be combined with proximity searches.
