BUG or Incomplete Feature? Send Hyperlinks here

This allows you to direct links to be opened in specific book(s).

which is what I understand and try to use. However, the page goes on only with regard to bibles:

For Bible references you can have a 2nd copy of your Bible open and set to Send Hyperlinks here. ...
...(examples, how to, pictues)...
This would allow you use the 2nd Bible to view many references without disturbing your Bible that you were reading from.

so far so good - but what about non-bibles?

Some days ago I had a layout where I thought it was working for LLS:CSS08RU (I just intuitively assumed this would work and help with the issue of the resource otherwise jumping around - and at first it looked like it worked just as I assumed it should) but it seems that was just coincidence and I didn't succeed in setting it up so that a link from within the resource to another place in the same resource opens in the second tab which has "Send hyperlinks here". It doesn't work for FSB / CSSB either.

Has this ever worked (even only under certain circumstances)? Is this a known bug / shortcoming?

"Send hyperlinks here" only works for data type reference links, not for direct links to a position in a resource. (The best you can do in these cases is right-click, Open in a new tab.)

It doesn't work for FSB / CSSB either.

Works fine for me when clicking a Bible reference in another resource. I assume you're talking about "See note on …" links? Those are also direct resource links and are not affected by "Send hyperlinks here".

Yes, in most circumstances.

Taking over direct resource links may not have been considered when the feature was implemented. I can open a case for it.

Yes please, this would be very helpful for the usability of resources with internal links.

By the way, the workaround (which may require switching from selection to link prior to allowing the open in new tab) persistently opens the new tab in the same tile for me, thus closing the tab I'm coming from. I'd like it to open in another tile. I know this kind of stuff is not easy to predict (left, right, ....) but I think for many who are using this the point may be to have to tabs visible at the same time.

Remember you can just drag the link to the new tile. It's quicker than right-clicking, and makes sure it opens exactly where you want.
