TYPO: Job 15:3 -- NET note #5

I don't know what to make of this name (and I am guessing/assuming that it is a name):

The verb סָכַן (sakhan) means “to be useful, profitable.” It is found 5 times in the book with this meaning. The Hiphil of יָעַל (ya’al) has the same connotation. E. LipinÃski offers a new meaning on a second root, “incur danger” or “run risks” with words, but this does not fit the parallelism (FO 21 [1980]: 65-82).

Is the A supposed to be capped? Is the last name supposed to be italicized? Why not the initial? What's going on here???

The correct name is Lipiński, referring to the scholar of Polish extraction.

This is interesting and mildly troubling. The reason for the difference in note numbering is shown below...

The subject heading that goes with Job 15 was originally numbered as part of Job 14, so note 66 has been correctly renumbered as note 1 for Job 15.

The troubling part is that this hasn't been incorporated and updated in Logos. [:(]

It is quite likely that what you see is a result of a batch conversion from older data.
