BUG: In Bible reference box

Reading Help I discovered the following which I had seen but did not remember the correct format. By seen I mean I've seen references with verse maps attached when I change my Bible preference. However, I don't recall ever being successful in entering it.

So I tried if first without any punctuation and Psalm 23 erroneously became Psalm 150 i.e. the 23 was ignored:

When I tried it with parens, also the wrong format, I got the expected error i.e. what I would have expected in case 1.

It appears to accept square brackets as the correct format, but I can't get the specified verse-map to have any effect on the outcome: i.e. in the reference box for the NRSV I get identical results from entering Psalm 23 [KJV], Psalm 23 [LXX] or Psalm 23 [VUL]. How do I enter the verse map in order for it to have an effect?

The specific example he gives still works but it doesn't seem to work within Bible resources.

Whether or not it is intended to work within a specific Bible is an interesting question. With a Bible having its own versemap it may not be able to handle others - but this is speculation.

this seems like a resource bug to me. I tried with various bibles and commentaries and all opened to 124 (well, except D-R bible, of course), same with LXX-R Psalm 23 which gives Ps 24 everywhere except D-R in all resources I checked. I don't have the "Feasting on the Word", though.

Maybe someone who does can confirm or help

Yes it is, but I see it as a missing feature. Someone using the Douay-Reims should be able to open what someone holding a KJV in his hands refers to as Psalm 23 (and vice versa).

Mick, that is too bad because I am getting VERY tired of resources not working correctly because of erroneous tagging. At what point am I free to foster a revolution by declaring the first Tuesday of every month "report an error" day?

The resources are tagged correctly.

We already have some departments that have a "No Email Tuesday" (to foster productivity). Declaring "No Forums Tuesday" seems like a great idea, too; thanks for the suggestion! [;)]
