Bug - resources not showing up

I opened Logos today and none of my resources are showing up. It says, "This resource is no longer in your library," and then it mentions the resource, HALOT or whatever it might be, and then there's a grayed out button that says "Update resources now" that I can't click. Below that says, "Requires restart. Press the button to begin downloading resources. Once resources are finished downloading, start Logos again." But, like I said, I can't actually click the button. This is highly unfortunate because I'm currently using Logos extensively for work, and this problem kind of hamstrings me. The only resource that's still in there is the NIV Bible. 3733.LogosLogs.mcossel.20140703-092313.zip

Sorry to hear you are having problems.

I have seen a similar issue reported on a couple of occasions before but not for some time.

Try the command "update resources" in the command box and see if that helps.

Are you sure you are logged on to Logos using your normal credentials?

To check, try starting Logos holding down the Cmd-key and enter username and password in the popup box which will appear

Well, I don't know that I have any abnormal credentials, so I think that it's correct. :-) I did try your suggestion, though, to no avail.

I added this thread in the Forums because I read on the website somewhere that I should add a log to the Forums if I'm having problems. But I'll go ahead and bug them via email too. :-)

Hi MJ,

I'm sorry for the trouble. What resource are you missing? Despite what it might look like when you run "Update resources" it will do something, and if nothing happens then there is likely something wrong with the OS we'll have to sort out. When you check for updates one of three things will happen. First you want to make sure that it says "Checking for updates" in the top right hand corner of the window next to the sync arrows and Layouts menu. If it doesn't say that then you may have mistyped something. What is typed into the command bar should look exactly like the image in solution three here.

What might happen:

1. Updates will be found. After updates are found they should start downloading automatically. You'll get a yellow notification bar indicating how far along the download is.

2. No updates are found. If this happens you'll see a message in the bottom right telling you so.

3. Nothing happens. If you see that Logos is checking for updates, the message that it is doing so goes away and you get neither the "updates are found" message nor "no updates are found" then we'll want to take a closer look at the machine. In that case it is best to call us at your earliest convenience and let us know what is happening.

Edit: I would encourage setting up logging prior to checking for updates as Jack has suggested below.

Did you have logging enabled? Your logos.log is from Tuesday, and the indexer.log contains one message repeated multiple times
