Resource Suggestion Polls

Wouldn't it be great if, for resource suggestions, we had something like User Voice, where people who had an account (or even, if you want to pander to your customer base, people who had an account who had spent at least 1 penny) could vote on what resources they wanted added next, and add new suggestions there, and perhaps have different categories- commentaries, Study Bible notes, other books, maybe one for author names rather than specific titles.

Excellent suggestion. Being a baptist (but not John and not upper-case), the poll would pretty much be a Baptist poll (assuming the penny and above Logosians actually voted).

What influences Logos's order of producing resources more than user demand (and this would be the case even if a poll determined huge user demand for a particular resource) is their relationships with publishers.

I agree, Rosie.

But going back to Pastor Kay's suggestion, I wonder how much of the publisher relationship is due to assumptions concerning user interest. If I was an evangelical publisher, probably the Logos contract would be attractive. But as one moves theologically away from the core customer, the contract requirements would be potentially more onerous.

Then there's assumptions concerning Logos interest, regardless of users. I suspect that's more significant. But Bob says 'not'.

If most of the people who vote are baptist, that's fine. I'm just hoping it would be a more efficient and visual way to get an idea for who of their customer base wants what. The prepub idea is interesting, but requires you to have a certain amount of $ in your bank account for whenever it comes to publishing. A simple vote, like they do with features, would get a wider set of opinions.

Cash in the bank isn't important since one never knows when the product will ship. You could be holding onto cash for 2 yrs.
