I just downloaded this series and it does not act like a commentary in the passage guide though in the library it is listed as a commentary.
Is this to be expected?
Depending on what verse your searching, there might be no results. I've done searches before using (for example) James 3:2, most commentaries will give results on the passage guide, but some will not, though they actually do comment on the verse, but as part of a section on the text and not as a single verse look up, does that make sense? Maybe that's what's happening to you - at least, that's the only thing I can think of right now.

As long as your indexing has completed (that ill cause it to miss search results, it does work as a commentary. Here is a search for anything in John 1:
In what way does it not behave as a commentary on the Old Testament book under discussion? I've not found odd behavior yet, although I have some ideas as to why it might seem odd.
Several of the volumes e.g. The Gospel According to David are not commentaries as they lack the appropriate indices. - 6 are labeled commentaries and 6 are labeled monographs.
What volumes don't behave as you expect? And precisely what behavior are they not showing?

Thank you for pointing that out, I had simply looked and saw that some of them are, I then assumed the rest were indexed this way as well. Not sure why some are commentaries and some are not. There isn't really a difference between them as far as the book goes.
So in summary the ones that are built as commentaries work as commentaries.
There isn't really a difference between them as far as the book goes
The difference is that some are built around main characters and are not keyed by Bible Passage in the text itself while those built around books go through the book in sequential blocks like a commentary.
