Extreme Resource County Dispaity

My laptop and desktop are both on Beta. The desktop has ~5400 resources, and my laptop has 6089 resources.
I know they both have a slightly different list of PB's, but not 700 titles different.
I've rebuilt the index on both to no avail, can someone from Logos look into this and figure out the reason?
Its been this way for a while, but its been a busy summer.

Is it at all possible that you are filtering the libraries so that subsets of resources are being shown as opposed to the "Entire Library"?
Could you post screenshots from libraries on both sorted by "Last Updated"? It would be interesting to see recent activity on both

How do counts by edition compare ?
edition:l
edition:e
edition:u
Personally have shared network drive so can use scan command in a Logos installation to copy resources from a different installation.

Try using Steve Clark's "Logos Library Reporter" program to do a detailed diff between the catalogs on each of your two computers. The LLR website gives full instructions on how to use that tool. Note that it is not made my Logos nor supported by Logos. Contact Steve if you have any problems or questions. He gives his email address in this thread along with more details (page through it looking for Steve's posts): http://community.logos.com/forums/t/85971.aspx

Not filtered in any way on either machine.
Edition:U brought up: 196 Desktop
Edition:E brought up: 608 Desktop
Edition:L brought up: 4609 Desktop
On the Laptop the numbers are as follows.
Edition:U - 54 (Laptop)Edition:E - 608
Edition:L - 5432
I've not returned anything ever as far as I can remember. Certainly nothing that large.
Turns out my laptop count is actually a little higher, there were a few resources that hadn't downloaded to my laptop last night when I posted the number.L2 lvl4 (...) WORDsearch, all the way through L10,

The Added or Missing books report is the one you want. Note that you have to use the manual method for the 'Read DB' button i.e. manually copy the Catalog.db and ResourceManager.db from the other computer (you use the Automatic Method for Logos files on the same computer as the Library Reporter).

Ran the report, and figured out my glitch. Turns out a resources hide state does not sync between computers. If you want a title hidden, or not, you have to manually hide, or unhide it on every machine.

This sounds strange - my understanding was that hiding a resource on one computer would sync to another one (assuming sync is enabled)

Yes, Hidden Resources should be synced.

Bradley, anything you need from me?
Would prefer them all unhidden. (am doing so at the moment).
Can anyone else duplicate this? Hide (and unhide) a couple titles on one machine, and see if the hide state it syncs to the other?L2 lvl4 (...) WORDsearch, all the way through L10,

As a remediation step I copied my catalog.db files into dropbox giving them new names (catalog-laptop.db & catalog-desktop.db). I copied the laptop db file into the desktop's data/(String)/librarycatalog folder, and started logos. We shall see what happens. I still have the original desktop.db file, and so in theory we can put it back if need be.

It didn't fix anything, just took forever to start.
Picked up a new SSD, and am thinking about installing Logos on it, which would mean a re-install... But I want to hear back whether I should just re-install, or if its just my computer, or what the deal is.L2 lvl4 (...) WORDsearch, all the way through L10,

This wouldn't work as hidden file info is in the ResourceManager.db file. But you should delete the ResourceManager.db on Desktop if you want to see what is on the Logos server!

In your Logos Library Report (LLR):
Looks like you did Not copy the associated ResourceManager.db file for Catalog.db file from the laptop.
(Note: the message indicates that the Catalog Entry (LLR's catalog) did Not have hidden book info. This usually happens when the ResourceManager.db file was missing or was not the correct one for the catalog.db file)EDIT: abondservant...i have added instructions in this post per the way Randy suggested.

Thanks Dave, I'll give that a shot.Dave Hooton said:abondservant said:I copied the laptop db file into the desktop's data/(String)/librarycatalog folder, and started logos.

I deleted the referenced db, and copied over (again) the libcat db. After what felt like a number of hours it was still at the grey screen that says "this may take a while" and so I uninstalled, and kicked off the download of about 14gb of data. As of 10am its 67% indexed.
My resource count is accurate (or at least the same as my laptop) now however, so thats good.L2 lvl4 (...) WORDsearch, all the way through L10,
