could you give legible samples of books, e.g.commentaries?

In order to decide whether or not to buy a commentary or series of commentaries, I would find it a big help if I could study a legible selection of several pages from the book or at least the series. You do sometimes give sample pages, but I find them hard to read. If you could give the opportunity to view 20 or 30 pages of a book or from the series, this would be a big help. Maybe something like Acrobat format. If you wanted to make it impossible to save on one's own computer, that would not matter, but it would be a help to be able to study it at leisure.
I spent a lot of money on the ICC OT commentaries, and then found the UBS commentaries were much more helpful to me, as well as being less money. You would have had less immediate profit, but a much more satisfied customer if I had been able to examine both series thoroughly. And I might well have bought more books if I had been able to preview them.

I have found that Amazon often has a look inside for many Logos offered books. I use that when trying to make a decision about a book I don't know. You can often see enough to get a good idea of the content and style this way. Plus the text is completely legible.

I've tried Amazon, but found it very slow and not very clear. I think Logos also had some similar samples. But they didn't give me enough of an idea of what I was deciding whether or not to buy

Hi Nicolette,
Have you tried reviewing the information at http://www.bestcommentaries.com
There are some good reviews as well as classification of commentary sets that I have found helpful. Also, Logos has a few commentary sections that evaluate the commentaries on their website http://www.logos.com/commentaries/multivolume
I think the best way to evaluate commentaries is to pick a challenging or interesting passage and then go to the library or christian bookstore and review the entries.

Thanks! Will try the website. Christian bookshops and libraries here in Albania tend not to have Bible commentaries in English!! Maybe my problem is a specialised one.... But there must be other expats without access to such facilities...
