I am considering purchasing the AMG Essentials Library.

https://www.logos.com/product/9438/amg-bible-essentials

I currently have the Logos 5 Silver package.

Is the AMG Essentials Library something you would suggest purchasing? It is recommended by Precept for the Inductive Study Method. Will it add much to my Inductive Studies, or will it be mostly redundant?

Thanks

Do You use those Bible versions? They are not the best.

I use the NASB95 and ESV. But I was assuming that the links would work in these translations as well as KJV. If they will not, then I would re-consider my purchase.

    Thanks

If You mean the pop-ups, like for any other Logos resource You can prioritize Your Bibles verse-by-verse, chapter-by-chapter, book-by-book, testament-by-testament, or just use one Bible version for everything. So if You have specified You can choose and different references will bring up different English Bible versions depending on what reference You click.

You noticed, I assume, that this has dynamic pricing meaning that you pay only for resources you do not already own. It is my observation that those who use the Precept for the Inductive Study Method find their recommendations reliable.

I have and recommend the resources. They may not be the most scholarly available but they suit my needs just fine.

Thanks for all of the quick replies and information.

I was wondering if my current Silver L5 bible dictionaries, concordances, etc. would be as useful, or if the AMG bundle have superior scholarship for my intended purpose. Or if the difference worth the $97 price tag. I seem to have a lot of redundant resources, although I know some are better and more recent than others.

    Thanks

Great resource! I would say most resources within Logos are somewhat redundant, but that doesn't mean you cannot learn new things from one that you cannot get from the other.  I highly recommend it, plus, Spiros Zodiahtes commentary on James is included along with other resources that can help you in your "Inductive Study Method" (e.g. Sermon starters).

Versions are versions and there will never be a perfect one only personal preferences.  I prefer the ASV 1909 for NT, but have moved to NKJV for the sake of practicality when communicating things in "current English." For the Old Testament I like the Revised Standard Version, but then again, I only use each for personal studies and keep the NKJV for the pulpit or sometimes the ESV or the NASB.  For Spanish I like LBLA which is the NASB equivalent.  It has more up-to-date Spanish -- yes, we have the same issue in Spanish when it comes to Bibles.  Some versions use old Spanish and others modern Spanish just like the KJV vs NKJV in English.

Appreciate all the input. I have purchased the set.

I watched the LearnLogos Webinar on the AMG Essentials before buying. It also had good points and I see how the Strong numbers in these resources provide much more than what I had.

    Thanks again

I came across one of the volumes in print. I was so impressed by the depth that I went ahead and ordered the AMG library. Between the dynamic pricing and the sale of the print book (sold for more than I paid), it was a very worthwhile addition.
