The Thomas Jefferson Collection will be shipping 8/13/2014.
It would be nice if we could get the Jefferson Bible into Community Pricing.
...
Edit: and while we are at it; how about An American Bible by Alice Hubbard?
I didn't know about the volume by Alice Hubbard. I downloaded the Kindle; definitely not Vyrso/Logos quality, but interesting.
I already had the 'Jefferson' Bible. I put that in quotes, since the volume remained his personal book unknown to his family until after he died, after which the public sort of gave it the title. He actually did 2 of them; the first seemed to be intended as a simplified teaching to the native americans (which quickly got quashed since it was missing the denominational hair-splitting).
The second was about 10 years later. Most people don't know Jefferson was quite knowledgable about the Bible and specifically the gospels. A friend of his was the author of an early gospel harmony which he studied, and then expanded to take advantage of the languages he was fluent in.
Folks today like to 'tag' him, forgetting that even the major Christian theological leaders prior to his day, picked and chose NT sections they thought belonged or didn't. Papias would have been his mentor.
I downloaded the Kindle; definitely not Vyrso/Logos quality, but interesting.
I'm sorry it was a disappointment. Alice Hubbard was the wife of Elbert Hubbard, of the Roycrofters fame.
Yes .. I was hoping / presuming that Alice wasn't related to the other Hubbard.
I think on the Kindle, Archive.com has a real for automatically moving PDFs into Kindle books as a service. If so, it was nice of them.
