Bug: Incorrect interpretation of a request

I'm amazed that the intent of this request has been so badly misinterpreted as per:-

Context Menu
Fixed bug which caused ‘Search this resource’ search settings to be saved for the ‘Root’. (See this thread.)

Testing verifies that search settings for 'root' are no longer saved!

The current Lemma Search behaviour was determined internally to be by design, so Root Search was brought in line with that. This may not have been communicated clearly on that other thread.

Irrespective of that, what has happened is still a misrepresentation of the user's request, so it should be communicated to the user and clarified in the Release Notes.

I agree - I was involved (not the OP) in the thread referenced in the release notes and had hoped that the change would go the other way.

While I see the request in the other thread that "search this resource" should reset all search parameters it needs to be clarified exactly what is happening.
