SUGG: Tie the Highlighting to sympathetic highlighting.
Currently if I select a bit of text in one bible (e.g. NASB) sympathetic highlighting also shadows the text in other bibles (e.g. ESV). [y]
If I then apply some "permanent" highlighting via CTRL-K or via the highlighing pane to the first bible (NASB), nothing at all happens to the ESV.
I would like to suggest that within Bibles, highlighting the text be tied to the underlying interlinear text rather than to the surface text. That way "sympathetic highlighting" would reflect the same highlighting schema's in all Bibles.

If this were to come to pass I would require granular control of when this behavior happened. Say I use sympathetic highlighting to correlated Greek and English and then decide I don't like the English translation, I highlight it orange to show I think the translation got it wrong. I would hate to have other English bible show up with an orange highlight when i didn't mean to put one there.

I agree it would be great if you could have a choice to highlight things that are highlighted via sympathetic highlighting or not depending on the situation, but it would definitely save time in those instances that I want it highlighted in multiple translations.

I also agree the implementing a solution to both circumstances would be awesome! I have created my own highlights that are specific to different sorts of things I look for in the text (e.x. repeated words or phrases, significant words or phrases, significant numbers, use of OT in NT, etc.). I think it would be great to have the option to extend this highlighting to - at the very least - my Top Bibles during my study. I also agree with Kevin; it would definitely need to be controllable.

To quote Ronald S Keyston Jr from this other thread which brought up the same request: "The biggest problem here is there is not always a direct correlation between different words in different Bibles...especially if they use different underlying manuscripts. As an extreme (slightly ridiculous) example, if you highlight a word or passage in the Message, how can it properly transfer that highlight to Young's Literal? I don't see this being feasible."

I am all for this (it would be very cool!) as long as there was a way to determine when highlighting would be sympathetic and when it would be resource specific.
