Onyx Boox T68 eink ereader for Logos books - Questions for other owners
I bought the Onyx Boox T68 eink open Android reader to use with Logos. It's working well for me, and I'm enjoying it!
I have a couple questions for others with this ereader. One, when I'm reading a book in Logos, sometimes I want to look up a word in the dictionary. This is very simple on the kindle app, but I don't see anything obvious through Logos. I downloaded the Oxford English dictionary that already own as a Logos resource and tried searching that. It works, but it takes way too long to come up. I think it would be faster to open a dictionary as a separate app. I tried downloading the Merriam Webster dictionary app, but it crashed. Does anyone have any recommendations for dictionaries?
Lastly, I haven't found a cover for this device. Does anyone recommend anything?

Sorry I can't answer your question about a case but you should be able to press and hold a word and then choose lookup.
I am considering buying an onyx boox but for me to want it over a kindle it would need to support highlighting in logos. Have you tried highlighting passages? Was the result good?

Highlighting works but it's difficult. Honestly I don't really recommend the T68. Check the amazon reviews to see why. Unfortunately though, there's not much else out there. I would consider looking into the new Icarus ones. However, they're very new, so there's not much in terms of reviews of them. I'm really hoping we get some more quality options in regards to epaper ereaders.

I had my own troubles with the T68, having returned two with problems before finding one that works well. There's no way to know what percentage of T68s have had issues, unfortunately. But I find that highlighting works acceptably well for me. For reading, you'd think that the Logos app was designed for eInk. The passage guides and exegetical guides work well. However, I can't seem to look up a definition of a word, like I can in the Logos iOS app. I don't know if that's a problem with the T68 or not.
The regular Kindle app works well on the T68. The Nook app doesn't. Google Play Books seems to be hit-or-miss. Moon Reader works very well, as does the native Onyx Reader. Calibre Companion is a great asset if you get a T68.
As for the Icarus (also sold under the Boyue name), I read a review saying that it had fewer compatibility issues with various reading apps than the T68 did. The T68 has a larger screen (6.8 in) and higher resolution (like the Kobo Aura HD). The Icarus has a 6 in. screen, like the Kindle Paperwhite.
It depends on how you want to use it and what you prefer. The T68 gives me what I've wanted for some time - the ability to read Logos resources on an eInk screen. Even with the above caveats, it's worth considering.

The dictionary issue is a limitation of the Android OS. They don't implement a built in dictionary that the Logos app can use like IOS does.
