Minimal Crossgrade Issues

I purchased and installed the minimal crossgrade yesterday, waited until the indexing was done and notice that the features that I most wanted are not available.

I followed the help guide regarding reverse interlinears and cannot find any of them available. Logos.com says that the NIV reverse interlinear is not yet complete, but I cannot find any of the others.

Secondly, Under the tools menu, the Biblical People, Places and Things options are grayed out and not available.

Are these bugs? Have I missed something or done something wrong?

There's been a date-related bug hit Logos this new year. People have been having problems with reverse interlinear, Biblical People etc. You've probably been hit by it. Try setting you system time back to December and see if that fixes it.

A fix from Logos will probably be coming in the next couple of days.

Thanks, before I got your response I tried doing an uninstall/install cycle. There was a post in another thread which indicated that the Logos 4 directory should be deleted before reinstalling. This did the trick and the people, places and thing plus interlinear seem to be working fine.

Now waiting for indexing to complete to have some fun . . .

Can you explain how to do an uninstall/install cycle?  I have resources (Biblical Places, People, Things etc) that are not showing up in my library, however, they are listed in the Resources folder.  I've tried updating resources, update now, scan the path, and nothing seems to be working.  I was thinking about rebuilding the index but don't know if the resources need to appear in the library first.  Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

    Whitney,

Welcome to the forums! Just for future reference, it's normally best to start a new thread when you have a new question, as the previous questions in this thread are several months old. It can get confusing to change horses mid-stream [:)] - and things have changed a lot in Logos 4 since January.

Now to your question. You'll find Biblical Places/People/Things on the Tools menu, not in your Library.

I tried going to Tools-Biblical Places and when I did, all I got was a grey screen that was called Untitled.  I don't get any error message, just a blank screen.  I just checked my library and it now says I have 0 resources so I'm not sure what's going on.

Whitney, it looks like we're going to have to dig deeper. First, please give us your machine specks: processor speed, amount of RAM, Hard drive free space, and operating system. Tell us when and how you installed and what other resources you have besides the minimal crossgrade (a base package for example).

Second, please enable diagnostic logging. See how to do that here: http://wiki.logos.com/Diagnostic_Logging

Now close and reopen Logos 4. Check to see if anything appears in Library. If it does, check Biblical places. If nothing appears, zip the logs you'll find under My Documents/Logos Log Files and attach them to a new message using the paperclip icon on the message creation header.

Macbook, Mac OS X version 10.5.8, 2.13 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2 GB 800 MHz DDR2 SDRAM.  It says I have 61.13 GB available.  I installed the minimal crossgrade via a download.  Prior to the minimal crossgrade, I had the Logos 1.2.2 engine for Mac.  I've never had a base package, per se.  I initially had the eBible Deluxe software and transferred all those resources to my Mac.  I installed the crossgrade and then loaded the AMG Bible Essentials.  I think that covers it.

It would be best to address the question to the Logos 4 Mac forum as this one is for the Windows version.

I've never had a base package, per se.

It's possible that's the source of the problem. I'd check with Customer Services.

    Whitney:

When the Win version came out last year, I bought the Min Crossgrade, without owning a base package. The Biblical People, Places, and Things were installed. In fact, they were among the inducements to get the crossgrade, rather than just get the new interface with the old resources only. So your lack of a Base package shouldn't prevent these pieces from being available. By the way,  I have since bought a base package, Bible Study. If you aren't a pastor or a seminary student, something like the Bible Study would probably be all you ever need, but you will still be blown away by the all the resources you'll have, particularly in addition to some of the goodies you already have from the Nelson stuff.

I called Tech Support and he discovered that some of my resources didn't download properly.  He got rid of a few things and then updated the resources and now everything is functioning properly.  Thanks to all who tried to assist me.
