1. Start a My Topic Guide on "Infancy Narratives in the New Testament Gospels". Note that Mt 1:1-2:23 and Luke 1:15-2:52 are not listed as Key texts. Note that there are no Sermon Starter Suggestions.
2. Click on the See Also "Childhood of Christ". A My Topic Guide opens with a See Also link back to the original :Infancy Narratives" (see brown arrows). Note the (ridiculously unhelpful) Sermon suggestion "Jesus".
3. Recognizing that "Jesus" is overly broad, open a Sermon Starter Guide and enter "Jesus: Birth" based on prior experience. Notice that neither "Infancy Narratives in the New Testament Gospels" nor "Childhood of Jesus" are listed as possible subject for a Topic Guide.
4. Click on the See Also "Nativity of Christ". A Topic Guide (not My Topic Guide) opens ignoring a previously saved My Topic Guide on Nativity of Christ. It does contain a Sermon Starter Guide suggestion that links us back to Jesus: birth (green arrows).
I would expect the links to work much more like a concept map with synonyms. It appears to work as a random connect/disconnect feature. I would also expect My Topic Guide to be given priority over Topic Guide. I would also expect a saved guide to be chosen over a new guide i.e. the same behavior as drives me nuts in the Passage Guide.

I suspect that there are few complaints about the behavior of the topic guide because the people who would report the problems simply don't bother to use it. It does have great potential but ....
