I absolutely love the ability to create our own collections, but with literally thousands of resources the sheer number of collections is becoming unmanageble. When I select what to search I have to scroll through a 100 listings, which IN THEORY should all be "nested" in about a dozen top-tier categories
Thus, I have a couple of suggestions:
- collapsible hierarchy. in other words, when I go to search, is it possible to have only a FEW collection CATEGORIES shown. if I click on "Commentaries" category, actual collections like Technical, LessTechnical, Application be displayed. Another Top-Tier category could be Authors, etc. Actually something similar already exists in Library view, could we just have it for categorizing collections in Search dialogs? This would limit wading through not applicable choices and greatly speed up the workflow.
- Another suggestion would be to have an automatically generated "NOT CATEGORIZED Books" collection. This feature is present in some better music library software to encourage the user to properly tag his songs, etc. If we had this automatically generated collection, it would help us to go through the books in our library and assign them a collection - even if it is a "Hide-them-forever books"
