Logos on 2 Computers

I have just purchased a new computer and have downloaded Logos. I am already running Logos on my original computer. When I went to open up my resources, I received this message: "You don't have a license to view this source, but here's a preview..."

Does this mean I am only able to use my resources on one computer? Or am I able to activate the resources so that they can be used on both computers?

You may use your resources on as many computers as you want - the thing is you need to log in with the same user credentials (email-address) for the Logos licence server to recognize you. It will then download all the resources (save your PBs) to your second computer - which may be a couple of GB -, index them - which may take some hours - and you're ready to go. There are faster methods as well (see the wiki).

I have a similar problem with my laptop, in my case I am logged in and I can use all my resources however it will not let me use the "personal books".

What am I doing wrong?

Can you use Personal Books on the computer on which you compiled them and not the other one?

If so, please note you need to "upload" them - from within the Personal Books tool - from the original computer and then they should sync to the other ones

If this doesn't resolve the problem please start a new thread in the Logos 7 forum (assuming you are running Logos 7) or in the Logos 6 one and provide as many details as you can

Currently know of an issue with Personal Book (PB) upload that is followed by a metadata update, which effectively disables index usability. Work around is compiling PB in one installation followed by using scan command in additional installation(s) to copy compiled resource. Personally have ResourceManager folder of my primary installation shared on my local network so can map or mount that folder followed by using scan command.

You have to backup *.lbspbb files from your ...\Logos\Data\randomuserId\ResourceManager\Resources folder, then use the scan {folder} command in other installations e.g. scan \Backup
