Indexing your Library

Surely this cannot be right, two whole days of indexing and still at it! After the count down of resources left to be indexed, going through all the resources(7000). I get this message that Logos Bible software is indexing your library when i hoover on the logos icon on my tool bar. What is interesting is no crashes thus far, is this normal? Its gone through 7000 resources, no resource appears to be indexing at the moment but it is still indexing!

I need help!

I am not sure i want to keep my Computer running for the third day without giving it a break! Why is this indexing taking so long? I hope the finished product doesn't take this long to install

System: Microsoft Windows XP

Home Edition, Version 2002, Service Pack 3

Dell Dimension 8400, Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.00GHz

2.99 GHz, 3.25GB of Ram.

Ted, There was message somewhere earlier (which cannot be found without a search mechanism) that said that some time was required to compact the index. Not sure what that means. But, don't give up or apparently the indexing will start from the beginning again - as happened on my netbook.

Mine was at least 36 hours, again for about 7000 resources.  Could be that at some point it started over too.  Once it finished though everything has been fine.  Hang in there I think.

Longtime Logos user (more than $30,000 in purchases) - now a second class user because I won't pay them more every month or year.

Yea it's unfortunate it takes so long to index, but I know it's completely worth it, one user was claiming his 6,000 resources (after being indexed for 36 hours) were being searched in seconds, like he would search 'Jesus' and it would show up with 18 million results in less than a couple seconds!
