iPad App Problem

I thought I would try this post in the "General Section" as there were not responses from the "ipad section".
I have an ipad2 running version 4.3.2 with 64gb of memory. App has worked fine until yesterday when I tried to download the NIB which was released on Thursday. The app will open but then it freezes when I try to search my library. I have deleted the app and restarted my ipad a number of times, with the same results. at the present, it wants me to download "Missing Books". When I tap on download, the library comes up. I try to search and it freezes again. I have even left it running all night but no success. Any thoughts or suggestions???

You need to update your OS. There is a good chance that will help solve your problem.

Thanks Frederick for your reply,
I contacted Customer Support and they assisted me. Too many books downloaded and the app couldn't handle it. My OS was up to date. It's working great now. Also Alabama24 told me about not downloading all my books as the app was not made to work that way.
Thanks again,

This happened to me also at the same time after months of no problems and no changes in my books. I think Logos changed something. I deleted and reloaded the app and now it sorta works but not as well as before. It freezes all the time. I think they added a capability that messed up others or they are having server problems.

May I ask how many books you had downloaded?

Close to 8,000.

Wow, that is a lot. No wonder why the app didn't respond well. Glad it is working well now.
I wonder what the maximum number of resources you can have without impacting performance.

How many books are too many for the App? this would be good to know.

Not sure how many are too many but Alabama24 said he would not do more than 200. Customer Support said only download what you are going to read at that time if you are not able to use an internet connection.

Hi Claybon,
You first posted on the iPad forums at 4:22am on Saturday, and then posted here at 5:20am on the same day. These forums are not monitored 24/7 and typically there will not be a response within the hour very early on Saturday. In any case I'm glad the issue is resolved.

I only download the books I might need if I am away from the Internet (out in my yard, for example).
Logos does all its searches on its servers, so doesn't need your resources on the iOS device to do this. There really isn't a need to have them on your iOS app except for being able to read them 'offline'.
So, how many are too many is probably just the opposite of what you want to ask. 'Probably' because it all depends on your Internet availability and what you plan to use. For most users, the question how few can I get away with is the better one. Alabama has no more than 200. I have 109 and don't need all of those.
I realize you are just curious, but the real point is that you can travel very 'light' as long as you have an Internet connection handy.
(BTW: if ever you have to reinstall your iOS app, you will lose all your downloaded resources and have to start fresh. I'd hate to have to re-download 8,000 resources.)
