Recently I find that Logos appears very slow.
How can I speed it up?
Would a smaller layout help?
Would using it off-line speed it up?
Would closing open programs, deleting temp files, etc. help?
What else should I do?
I would appreciate help.
Logos does a lot of things behind the scenes and thus is benefited by better computer hardware.Might help us to know some more specifics about your computer: CPU? amount of Ram? Are you using an SSD?Fewer programs running at the same time will offer some relief. Temp files if they have become corrupted can be an issue. However in general are there to speed things up. Almost for certain the recommendations I can offer without seeing your system specs are two fold: Invest in a Solid State Drive and then install Logos on it, Secondly add more ram to your computer. Not sure what Logos recommends, but I think probably 6-8gb is the sweet spot for most applications right now.
Hi Noel,
In addition to abondservant's suggestions, you might go through this wiki page and try some of the suggestions: Speeding up Logos
Logos is a busy program (doing a lot of things behind the scenes), so eliminating some of those things which you are not currently using can speed up your Logos experience.
I agree with the suggestions offered, but I'd also have to ask if you are experiencing any slower operation from other programs or functions. Very often some necessary housecleaning will restore operational performance. Conventional PC hard drives should be defragged. On a Mac, I use Onyx once a month to be sure everything is running well.

How long have you used this? I would like to get a utility but I am afraid of one messing something up....
I have used MacKeeper for about six months without any problems.
You can check it out at MacKeeper - Official Site

Onyx has been around for years and I've been using it for at least five years. Much of what Onyx does, if I understand it correctly, is simply maintenance that's built into the operating system and utility programs, but enables you to run it when you want. I've never had any issues with it, and it has helped me by alerting me to a drive issue and cleaned up some errors with some programs. It's also free, which is a good thing.
